Project Dad, a Chicken Soup for the Soul Original

Project Dad, a Chicken Soup for the Soul Original, follows three celebrity dads as they step out of the spotlight and into the role of “mom” for 48 hours. Project Dad follows Donnell Rawlings (comedian, Chappelle’s Show), Daniel Cosgrove (actor, Days of Our Lives), and DJ Skribble (world-ranked disc jockey, MTV’s TRL) as they’re left alone with their kids while their partners leave home for a few days. The series turns the camera on these three busy celebrity dads as they try to put their careers to the side and get to know their children. The dads struggle to balance caring for a home, parenting and pursuing a full-time career — on their own. Project Dad is based on the hit international series Return of Superman that was originally broadcast and owned by Korean Broadcasting System. The hit series in South Korea has won more than 13 awards. Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment now owns the worldwide rights to the show outside of Korea, China and Turkey.

The series premieres on Discovery Life on November 1 at 7:00 p.m. To find your Discovery Life channel, click here.

Chicken Soup for the Soul's Hidden Heroes

Chicken Soup for the Soul’s Hidden Heroes, hosted by Brooke Burke-Charvet, is a television show in which each episode reveals the widespread goodwill in our world by secretly capturing heroes in action as they demonstrate acts of kindness, compassion and commitment to others. Highlighted by funny, light-hearted moments, the show shines a bright light on everyday people who selflessly share their positive attitudes towards society and life with others by doing good deeds and making good choices.

The show, which also includes user-generated content, is based in part on three Chicken Soup for the Soul books created with The Boniuk Foundation: Chicken Soup for the Soul: Be the Best You Can Be; Chicken Soup for the Soul: Create Your Best Future; and Chicken Soup for the Soul: Raising Great Kids. These books were made, with the support of The Boniuk Foundation, from thousands of stories specifically selected to build character, promote kindness, and encourage compassion, especially as a tool against bullying. Each episode of Chicken Soup for the Soul’s Hidden Heroes features three scenarios that capture everyday heroes in action in a highly entertaining and interactive format.

Chicken Soup for the Soul’s Hidden Heroes has won several awards for the first season including three 2016 Telly Awards – Bronze: Education; Bronze: Children’s Programming; and Bronze: Social Responsibility and a 2016 Parents’ Choice Award.
