Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment Inc. (“the Company”) (Nasdaq: CSSE), one of the largest operators of streaming advertising-supported video-on-demand (AVOD) networks, today announced that Film Mode will present three feature films to international buyers for the first time on behalf of Screen Media, a Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment Company, at the upcoming European Film Market. Among the two films making their world premieres are Mayim Bialik's comedic dramedy As They Made Us, starring Dustin Hoffman, Dianna Agron, and Candice Bergen, and K. Asher Levin's thriller Dig, starring Thomas Jane and Emile Hirsch. Screen Media has also acquired the international sales rights to writer/director Scott Abramovitch's comedy, Dear Elizabeth, starring Tony Hale, which Film Mode will represent at EFM.

Written and directed by Mayim Bialik, As They Made Us is a comedic drama starring Dustin Hoffman, Candice Bergen, Dianna Agron and Simon Helberg. A new romance for recently divorced Abigail (Dianna Agron) arrives right in the midst of her parents’ (Dustin Hoffman and Candice Bergen) chaotic antics. After a lifetime of dysfunctional hilarity, the family, accompanied by an estranged brother (Simon Helberg) find it within themselves to embrace for one final goodbye. The film is produced by Anne Clements, Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman of Yale Productions, Ash Christian, and Mark Maxey of Rolling Pictures, and executive produced by Seth Needle and David Fannon of Screen Media, and David Nagelberg, and Clay Epstein of Film Mode Entertainment. Additional executive producers include Cory Anderson, Johnathan Benefiel, Ori Eisen, Barry Germansky, Larry Greenberg, Matthew Helderman, Theodore Lodato, Berry Meyerowitz, Bradley Pilz, Jeff Sackman, Philip W. Shaltz, Luke Taylor and John Wollman.

Directed by K. Asher Levin, from a script by Benhur Ablakhad and Banipal Ablakhad, Dig stars Thomas Jane, and Emile Hirsch. Contracted for home demolition, a widowed father (Thomas Jane) and his daughter, suffering from major hearing loss, arrive at a construction site. They are soon taken hostage by a dangerous couple, who will stop at nothing to retrieve what lies beneath the property. The father and daughter must work together to outsmart their captors and survive the grueling night. The film is produced by Daniel Cummings, along with WLAD’s Rob Goodrich and Jason Armstrong, and Buffalo 8 New Mexico’s Robert Dean. Executive producers include Clay Epstein, BondIt Media Capital’s Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor and Grady Craig, and Thomas Jane and Courtney Lauren Penn through Renegade Entertainment.

In Dear Elizabeth, Sid Straw (Tony Hale) leads a dull life until he accidentally stalks an old college classmate, actress Elizabeth Banks, on social media. With each failed attempt to prove he knows her, Sid rediscovers more of himself and the true meaning of friendship.  Produced by Scott Abramovitch and David J. Phillips, the film is executive produced by Daniel Norris Webb, Tony Hale, Jamie Abramovitch, Andrew Kurzon, Salamo Levin and Tony Manolikakis. Elisha Cuthbert co-stars in the film written and directed by Scott Abramovitch.

Screen Media Ventures has a library of over 600 titles, which Film Mode exclusively licenses. “We’re excited to continue our partnership with Screen Media and represent their cinematic library of commercially viable films that entice global audiences and buyers alike,” said Film Mode Entertainment’s Clay Epstein. “We’re thrilled to be screening three exciting new feature films that span the most popular genres for the very first time in Berlin during EFM.”
